MOSCOW, Saturday, October 11, 2025 (WNP): The armed forces of Russia and Pakistan have successfully concluded their annual ‘Druzhba 2025’ joint military exercises, held in the territory of Russia’s Southern Military District, focusing on counterterrorism operations and interoperability between the two nations’ special forces.
The exercises brought together around 200 servicemen from both sides. Russia was represented by Special Operations Forces of the Southern Military District, known for their extensive experience in counterterrorism missions, while the Pakistan Army’s Special Forces units took part from Islamabad’s side.

Throughout the drills, troops from both countries practised tactical maneuvers, joint planning, and live-action counterterrorism operations, aimed at enhancing operational coordination in complex environments.
The event concluded with commendations for outstanding participants and the exchange of souvenirs bearing the official symbols of the Druzhba 2025 exercises — a gesture underscoring the spirit of friendship and partnership between the two militaries.

Launched in 2016, the Druzhba (Friendship) series of exercises serve as a key component of Russia–Pakistan defence cooperation, held alternately in both countries. The joint training aims to bolster mutual understanding, strengthen military-to-military ties, and enhance joint readiness to counter global terrorism.
Officials from both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in defence and security, describing the exercises as a symbol of growing strategic trust and shared dedication to regional and international stability.
