President, PM, & nation congratulate Arshad Nadeem on gold medal victory at Asian Athletics Championships

ISLAMABAD, Saturday, May 31, 2025 (WNP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday extended heartfelt congratulations to Pakistan’s star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, for securing a gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, South Korea.

In their separate messages, issued by the President’s Press Wing and the Prime Minister’s Media Office, the country’s top leadership hailed Nadeem’s “superb performance” and described his victory as a proud moment for the entire nation.

President Zardari praised Nadeem for once again bringing international acclaim to Pakistan, highlighting his consistent excellence in javelin throw competitions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Nadeem’s hard work, passion, and success serve as an inspiration for young athletes across the country.

“Arshad Nadeem continues to raise the Pakistani flag high through his dedication and outstanding achievements,” the prime minister stated, adding that his perseverance is a guiding light for future generations of sportsmen.

Arshad Nadeem secured his maiden Asian Championships title with a best throw of 86.40 meters, marking a significant milestone in his athletic career.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Communications and President of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Abdul Aleem Khan, also congratulated Nadeem on his remarkable achievement. In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), he lauded the athlete’s performance, calling him a “true son of a resilient nation.”

“Alhamdulillah, hats off to Arshad Nadeem. He has made every Pakistani proud once again,” Khan wrote. He noted that defeating an Indian competitor in the final added further pride to the victory and symbolized Pakistan’s strength on the regional athletic stage.

“Champions like Arshad are built on a foundation of unwavering determination, skill, and commitment. The entire nation stands behind our young athletes,” he added.

Nadeem’s triumph not only adds to Pakistan’s growing presence in international athletics but also renews hopes for further success in the upcoming global competitions, including the Paris 2024 Olympics.
