ISLAMABAD, Thursday, June 12, 2025 (WNP): Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and head of the party’s parliamentary group in the Senate, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, on Thursday strongly condemned India’s recent allegations against Türkiye and its punitive measures targeting Turkish companies, calling them baseless and politically motivated.

The remarks came during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, at Parliament House, where Senator Siddiqui expressed unwavering support for Türkiye in the face of what he described as “unjustified provocations” by India.

“We categorically reject India’s accusations and its actions against Turkish businesses,” Siddiqui said. “Pakistan desires peace in the region but remains fully prepared to respond decisively to any attempts at regional domination or aggression.”

He recalled Türkiye’s consistent support to Pakistan during times of Indian hostility and said the Pakistani nation would never forget Ankara’s solidarity. “Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy a historic and deep-rooted friendship, which is now expanding into new areas of cooperation—particularly in security and defense,” he added.

Senator Siddiqui noted that the strong personal rapport between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has significantly contributed to the strengthening of bilateral ties. He welcomed Ambassador Neziroglu warmly and praised his role in furthering Pakistan-Türkiye relations.

The senator also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to a peaceful and stable South Asia, while underlining that sustainable peace is not possible without the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. “We are always ready for comprehensive dialogue, but the world now clearly sees who is obstructing peace,” he said.

On regional issues, both leaders voiced strong condemnation of Israel’s continued atrocities in Gaza, describing them as genocide. They called for a unified stance at international platforms to uphold global peace, justice, and human rights in the face of such grave violations.

Ambassador Neziroglu, for his part, expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan’s consistent support to Türkiye, especially at times of global and regional challenges. “When I arrived in Pakistan, I did not feel like I was in a foreign country—it felt like home,” he said. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan.

Highlighting the need for practical progress, the ambassador called for both countries to take “concrete, structured, and forward-looking steps” to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

He also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, describing him as a trusted friend of Türkiye and a key figure in fostering closer ties between the two brotherly nations. Reaffirming Ankara’s stance on Kashmir, the ambassador said Türkiye fully supports Pakistan’s principled position on the issue.
