ISLAMABAD, Saturday, July 4, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday extended warm felicitations to President Donald J. Trump and the people of the United States on the historic occasion of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties based on mutual respect, shared interests and constructive engagement.

In a message marking the United States’ Independence Day, the Prime Minister said Pakistan joined the American people in celebrating the landmark milestone and the enduring values of freedom, resilience and democracy.

“Warm felicitations to President Donald J. Trump and the people of the United States on the historic occasion of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence,” the Prime Minister said.

He noted that Pakistan and the United States share a partnership spanning more than seven decades, underpinned by close cooperation in diverse fields and strengthened by the invaluable contributions of the vibrant Pakistani-American community.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said history had repeatedly demonstrated that Pakistan and the United States had stood together during some of the world’s most consequential moments, particularly when global peace and security were at stake.

He also acknowledged and appreciated President Trump’s contribution to promoting peace in South Asia, saying his diplomatic efforts had helped avert a potentially devastating conflict that could have endangered hundreds of millions of lives.

The Prime Minister further commended President Trump’s continued efforts to help resolve major international conflicts and advance global peace and stability.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed confidence in the future of Pakistan-United States relations and reiterated Islamabad’s resolve to deepen cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

“As our two countries look towards a bright and promising future, Pakistan remains fully committed to further strengthening its partnership with the United States, based on mutual respect, shared interests, and constructive, mutually beneficial engagement,” he said.

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister wished the American people a happy Independence Day and reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to continue working closely with the United States to promote regional peace, economic cooperation and shared prosperity.
