ISLAMABAD, Monday, April 20, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call on Monday evening from the President of the European Council, António Costa, during which both leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East.

During the cordial exchange, the Prime Minister shared updates on Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

President Costa appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in encouraging dialogue and stability, and said the European Union was ready to support these efforts in every possible manner.

Both leaders stressed the importance of continued dialogue and diplomacy to ensure lasting regional and global security. They also agreed to remain in close contact on the evolving situation.
