RIYADH, Monday, July 6, 2026 (WNP): Pakistan’s Embassy in Riyadh, in collaboration with its Trade and Investment Wing, inaugurated the Pakistani Mango Festival in the Saudi capital on Monday, showcasing Pakistan’s world-renowned mangoes and reinforcing efforts to expand agricultural exports and deepen commercial ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, formally inaugurated the festival, describing Pakistani mangoes as among the finest in the world due to their distinctive flavour, exceptional quality and rich aroma.

The opening ceremony featured the cutting of a specially prepared Pakistani mango cake, while guests were served a wide variety of mango-based desserts, sweets, beverages and other culinary products, all made from premium Pakistani mangoes. The exhibits received an enthusiastic response from Saudi visitors, business representatives and members of the Pakistani community.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Ahmed Farooq said Pakistan’s mangoes enjoy an outstanding international reputation and continue to gain popularity among Saudi consumers.

He emphasized that promoting premium Pakistani agricultural products in international markets remains a key priority, expressing confidence that growing demand in Saudi Arabia would further strengthen bilateral trade and create new opportunities for Pakistani exporters.

The festival was attended by Minister (Trade and Investment) Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Pakistani entrepreneurs, fruit exporters, Saudi importers, representatives of retail chains, business leaders and a large number of Saudi citizens eager to experience the distinctive taste of Pakistan’s premium mango varieties.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shagufta Zareen said this year’s Pakistani Mango Festival is being organized in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam as part of a comprehensive campaign to introduce Pakistan’s premium mangoes to a wider Saudi audience and enhance export opportunities.

She said similar promotional events are also being held in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar in collaboration with local partners, retailers and importers to strengthen the presence of Pakistani mangoes across the Saudi market.

“The objective is to make Pakistani mangoes the preferred choice for Saudi consumers while further promoting agricultural cooperation and bilateral trade between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia,” she said.

Pakistan is among the world’s leading mango-producing countries, exporting dozens of premium varieties—including Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, Langra, Dusehri and White Chaunsa—to international markets every year. Saudi Arabia remains one of Pakistan’s most important export destinations for fresh fruits, particularly mangoes, owing to strong consumer demand and close economic relations between the two brotherly countries.

The Pakistani Mango Festival forms part of the Embassy’s broader trade diplomacy initiatives for promoting Pakistan’s agricultural products, supporting exporters, expanding market access and strengthening commercial partnerships under the growing Pakistan–Saudi Arabia economic relationship.

The event also reflects the increasing momentum in bilateral trade cooperation, with both countries seeking to diversify economic engagement, enhance food trade and unlock new opportunities in agriculture, investment and value-added exports.
