Pakistan, Türkiye vow to pursue lasting peace in Gaza; Ishaq Dar, Hakan Fidan discuss diplomatic way forward

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday received a telephone call from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in Gaza and explored pathways toward achieving a sustainable ceasefire and lasting peace in Palestine.

According to the Foreign Office, the two ministers exchanged views on the next steps and diplomatic modalities for coordinated efforts aimed at ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, justice, and protection of civilian lives in accordance with international law.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan extended an invitation to Senator Ishaq Dar to visit Türkiye for the upcoming meeting of the eight Foreign Ministers of countries actively engaged in the diplomatic process on Gaza, following up on their discussions held on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly session in New York.

Meanwhile, Pakistan expressed solidarity with Türkiye after a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Sindirgi district in western Türkiye’s Balikesir province late Monday.

In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said: “Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the people of Türkiye following the 6.1 magnitude earthquake. We are ready to extend humanitarian assistance and support in search and rescue operations.”

He also expressed deep sympathy for the affected families and prayed for the swift recovery and resilience of the Turkish people.

“Our prayers are with all those affected. May the region recover swiftly and with strength,” Dar remarked.

The latest exchange underscores the deep-rooted Pakistan–Türkiye partnership, marked by shared values of brotherhood, compassion, and mutual support in times of regional and humanitarian crises.
