ISLAMABAD, Monday, May 12, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced that May 10 will be observed annually as Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq (Day of the Battle for Truth), commemorating the “magnificent success” of Operation Bunyan Al Marsoos, the military campaign launched in response to Indian aggression.

Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister said the day would be marked across the country with fervor, patriotic zeal, and a reaffirmation of national unity. “The professional excellence and unmatched courage of our armed forces have made the entire nation proud,” he stated.

He further declared Friday, May 16, 2025, as Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude) to offer special prayers in thanksgiving and to pay tribute to the armed forces for their exemplary performance in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Compensation package for Shuhada & affected civilians

The Prime Minister unveiled a comprehensive compensation package for the martyrs and injured civilians of Marka-e-Haq. Families of civilian martyrs will receive Rs 10 million, while injured civilians will be compensated between Rs 1 million and Rs 2 million depending on the severity of injuries.

For the Pakistan Armed Forces, the families of martyrs will receive between Rs 10 million and Rs 18 million, with an additional housing compensation ranging from Rs 19 million to Rs 42 million, based on rank. Their families will continue to receive full salaries, including allowances, until the date of retirement.

Additional measures include:

* Marriage grant of Rs 1 million for one daughter of each martyred soldier.
* Compensation for injured military personnel ranging from Rs 2 million to Rs 5 million.
* Reconstruction of houses and mosques damaged in Indian attacks.
* State-sponsored medical care for the injured.

“The nation owes a debt to the martyrs and their families,” the Prime Minister said. “It is the government’s solemn duty to honour and support them.”

ISPR releases details of operation ‘Marka-e-Haq’

Meanwhile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a detailed account of the 19-day conflict with India from April 22 to May 10, codenamed Marka-e-Haq. The military campaign culminated in Operation Bunyan Al Marsoos, launched on May 10, as a direct response to India’s unprovoked strikes on Pakistani territory on the night of May 6–7, which killed dozens of innocent civilians, including women and children.

“Pakistan had vowed justice for the victims of Indian aggression — and the Armed Forces have delivered on that promise,” the ISPR stated.

It praised the combined strength of the tri-services — Army, Navy, and Air Force — for conducting precision strikes using Fatah-series long-range missiles (F1 and F2), loitering munitions, and network-centric capabilities to engage 26 strategic military targets in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and mainland India.

Among the targets destroyed:

* Indian Air Force and Army installations in Suratgarh, Sirsa, Bhuj, Adampur, Srinagar, Jammu, Udhampur, Ambala, Pathankot, and other locations.
* BrahMos missile storage facilities at Beas and Nagrota.
* S-400 air defense systems at Adampur and Bhuj.
* Military logistics hubs, artillery positions, radar stations, and field commands involved in attacks against Pakistan.
* Intelligence and training units supporting proxy terrorism inside Pakistan.

ISPR confirmed that forward military posts across the Line of Control (LoC) that had caused civilian casualties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were severely damaged, with some raising white flags requesting restraint.

Pakistan’s cyber & drone supremacy demonstrated

The ISPR also disclosed that Pakistan’s armed drones penetrated deep into Indian airspace, including major cities and strategic sites in New Delhi, showcasing the country’s long-range unmanned combat capabilities.

Simultaneously, Pakistan executed cyber operations that temporarily disabled critical Indian infrastructure supporting military operations.

Despite provocation, the ISPR emphasized, Pakistan maintained restraint and precision, deliberately avoiding civilian casualties and limiting strikes to military and terrorist infrastructure directly responsible for attacks inside Pakistan.

Internal & external support acknowledged

The ISPR praised:

* The people of Pakistan, whose unity and prayers were deemed a “force multiplier.”
* The media, which countered Indian misinformation campaigns.
* The diplomatic corps, for effectively presenting Pakistan’s case globally.
* The scientific community, for enabling the success of Operation Bunyan Al Marsoos through indigenous technology.
* The political leadership, for unanimous support during the crisis, especially the “inspiring leadership” of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Response to Indian-backed terrorism

ISPR also highlighted a sharp rise in Indian-sponsored terrorist activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during the eastern front operations. It credited Pakistan’s military for simultaneously neutralizing these threats with effective counterterrorism operations.

“Marka-e-Haq has demonstrated the strength of national unity, integrated military capabilities, and an unshakable resolve to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty,” the ISPR concluded. “Let there be no doubt — any threat to our homeland will be met with a decisive and comprehensive response.”
