Pakistan, Saudi leadership confer on regional stability, unity of Ummah

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, December 31, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday held a telephone conversation with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during which the two leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and current developments.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and underscored the imperative of preserving regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.

He also stressed the importance of unity and harmony among the Muslim Ummah at a time of multiple and complex challenges confronting the region.

The discussion was described as warm and cordial. The prime minister conveyed his respectful regards and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He also thanked the Saudi leadership for its continued warmth and goodwill toward Pakistan.

Both leaders reaffirmed their shared resolve to further strengthen the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting that bilateral relations had reached new heights in recent months. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman thanked the prime minister for the call and reiterated the Kingdom’s desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan across all areas of mutual interest. He also expressed his intention to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in the coming year.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the two sides held cordial discussions and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
