ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, November 5, 2025 (WNP): Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to strengthening its longstanding brotherly ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing shared faith, culture, and history as the foundation of their relationship.
He expressed these views during a meeting with the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, at the Parliament House in Islamabad.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq congratulated the Iranian government and people for successfully repelling Israel’s aggression, noting that Pakistan’s Parliament was the first to unequivocally condemn the Israeli attack on Iran.
He also lauded the Iranian Parliament for chanting “Pakistan Zindabad,” describing it as a reflection of the mutual respect and solidarity between the two nations.
Expressing gratitude for Iran’s consistent support during times of Indian aggression, the Speaker said Iran remains a trusted brotherly neighbour, and that enhanced parliamentary cooperation will help open new avenues for mutual progress and regional peace.

Iranian Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, in his remarks, extended heartfelt appreciation for Pakistan’s unwavering support during the recent crisis, calling Pakistan a “true friend in need.” He said Pakistan’s timely and principled stance was a testament to the depth of bilateral relations, underscoring that parliamentary collaboration serves as the cornerstone of stronger ties between the two countries.
He further thanked Pakistan for supporting Iran at international forums and reiterated his country’s desire to deepen cooperation in all areas, including trade, culture, and regional connectivity.
Both leaders agreed to continue joint efforts for peace, stability, and prosperity across the region, highlighting the crucial role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
Qalibaf also commended Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional harmony, while members of the Iranian delegation praised the active engagement of Pakistan’s Parliament in regional and global affairs.

Member of the National Assembly and Convener of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, Syed Naveed Qamar, also attended the meeting.
