TEHRAN, Wednesday, October 29, 2025 (WNP): Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday held a high-level meeting with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran reaffirming both countries’ shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and promoting peace and stability in the region.
During the wide-ranging discussions, the two leaders reviewed the state of Pakistan–Iran relations, focusing on security collaboration, regional developments, and cross-border cooperation.
Minister Naqvi briefed President Pezeshkian on the situation along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and peaceful resolution of regional challenges.

President Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s readiness to play a “brotherly and constructive role” in helping ease tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, emphasizing Tehran’s desire to foster regional harmony and cooperation.
Conveying Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s message of goodwill, Minister Naqvi said that Pakistan remains fully committed to strengthening ties with Iran, noting that both nations are “partners in promoting regional peace, progress, and stability.”
President Pezeshkian lauded Pakistan’s steadfast friendship and reaffirmed that Iran attaches special importance to its relations with Pakistan, adding that Tehran “can never forget the boundless support of its brotherly neighbour.”
He expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and underlined the vast potential for expanded cooperation in trade, energy, border management, and cultural exchange.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of both sides’ determination to deepen strategic cooperation and coordinate efforts for lasting peace, prosperity, and stability across the region.
