ISLAMABAD, Friday, September 5, 2025 (WNP): Advisor to the Chairman Senate, Misbah Khar, on Friday formally invited the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to attend the inaugural session of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), scheduled for November 11–12, 2025, in Islamabad under the theme “Peace, Stability and Security.”

During her visit to the Turkish Embassy, Misbah Khar met Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu and briefed him on the objectives of the ISC, a newly launched global forum designed to promote dialogue and practical solutions on pressing international challenges through parliamentary diplomacy.

She said the ISC seeks to bring together Speakers of parliaments and world leaders to deliberate on issues of peace, conflict resolution, stability, and security, offering an inclusive platform for constructive engagement.

Highlighting Pakistan’s leadership role, she noted that Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani has been unanimously elected as the first President of the ISC, reflecting international confidence in Pakistan’s ability to guide such a platform.

Ambassador Neziroglu welcomed the initiative, reaffirming the strong bonds between Pakistan and Türkiye and pledging Ankara’s full support for the ISC as a forum of growing global importance.

Misbah Khar assured the ambassador of Pakistan’s continued commitment to deepening parliamentary cooperation with Türkiye and to advancing the ISC’s mission of fostering peace and stability through dialogue.
