Pakistan, Egypt reaffirm strategic ties, call for urgent humanitarian access in Gaza

NEW YORK, Monday, July 28, 2025 (WNP): Pakistan and Egypt on Monday reaffirmed their long-standing bilateral ties and expressed strong support for the Palestinian cause during a high-level meeting on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Two-State Solution in New York.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, where the two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on enhancing cooperation and aligning their diplomatic efforts in regional and global forums.

Reiterating the historic and fraternal relationship between the two nations, both ministers emphasized the need to broaden collaboration across multiple sectors, including healthcare, mineral resources, defense, trade, and investment. They also underscored the importance of improving connectivity to promote regional economic integration and committed to advancing high-level bilateral exchanges in the near future.

In a gesture of diplomatic goodwill, Foreign Minister Abdelatty congratulated Pakistan on assuming the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month, highlighting Pakistan’s active engagement on key global issues.

The two sides strongly reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and called for an immediate and unconditional cessation of Israeli hostilities in Gaza. They stressed the urgent need for unimpeded humanitarian access to alleviate the deepening crisis and expressed hope that the ongoing conference would yield concrete steps toward realizing a two-state solution based on international legitimacy.

The meeting reflected growing convergence between Islamabad and Cairo on regional peace, multilateral cooperation, and their shared commitment to upholding the rights of oppressed communities across the Muslim world.
