ISLAMABAD, Friday, September 12, 2025 (WNP): Ambassador of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) and Adviser to the Chairman Senate, Misbah Khar, on Friday met with Oman’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Fahad Bin Sulaiman Bin Khalaf Al-Harusi, to discuss Oman’s participation in the upcoming parliamentary gathering.
During the meeting, Khar briefed the Omani envoy on the establishment and objectives of the newly formed ISC, describing it as an international platform designed to foster dialogue among Speakers of parliaments and world leaders. She underscored that the forum aims to advance peace, conflict resolution, stability, and security through inclusive parliamentary diplomacy and practical cooperation.
Highlighting Pakistan’s leadership role, Khar noted that Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has been unanimously elected as the first President of the ISC, reflecting the broad confidence of the international community in Pakistan’s contribution to global parliamentary engagement.
Khar extended a formal invitation to Oman’s leadership to attend the inaugural ISC session, scheduled for November 11–12 in Islamabad, under the theme “Peace, Stability, and Security.”
Ambassador Al-Harusi welcomed the initiative, reaffirming the historic fraternal ties between Pakistan and Oman and pledging his country’s full support for Pakistan’s leadership and the ISC’s growing global significance.
In response, Khar assured Oman’s ambassador of Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation with Oman and working closely to advance the ISC’s mission of promoting peace and stability through parliamentary dialogue.
