KUALA LUMPUR, Sunday, October 26, 2025 (WNP): Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has lauded the President of the United States for his pivotal role in facilitating the historic peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, marking a major diplomatic breakthrough in Southeast Asia.

Speaking at a joint press briefing following the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accords, Prime Minister Anwar expressed deep appreciation for the U.S. President’s direct engagement in the peace process.

“You personally called both Prime Ministers to urge for a speedy peace settlement,” Anwar said. “The world needs leaders who promote peace so strongly — and your efforts have brought stability and hope to our region.”

The Malaysian leader emphasized that the peace accord, signed under ASEAN’s auspices, reflected the region’s growing resolve to address disputes through dialogue and mutual respect.
