ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, July 23, 2025 (WNP): Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Pakistan, Dr. Maen Khreasat, on Wednesday visited the new campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and held high-level meetings to explore avenues for deeper educational cooperation between Jordan and Pakistan.
During his visit, Ambassador Khreasat met separately with IIUI Rector Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and President Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed. The discussions centered on enhancing academic partnerships, technical assistance-based scholarships, faculty and student exchange programs, and co-hosting international conferences between IIUI and Jordanian universities.
Rector Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed welcomed the ambassador and appreciated the forward-looking proposals. He described “education diplomacy” as a powerful instrument for fostering global peace, harmony, and sustainable development, assuring full institutional support to build robust academic ties with Jordan.
In a separate interaction, IIUI President Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed briefed the ambassador on the university’s strategic direction, its diverse academic portfolio, and its vision of expanding collaboration across the Muslim world. He reiterated IIUI’s dedication to cultivating international educational linkages rooted in shared values and mutual benefit.
Ambassador Khreasat commended IIUI’s contributions to higher education and its impact on Muslim societies. He termed the visit a gateway to a “win-win situation” and emphasized the role of cultural and academic exchange in building stronger bilateral relations. He also expressed hope for an increase in the number of Jordanian students studying at IIUI in the years ahead.
The visit marked a renewed commitment from both sides to elevate academic diplomacy as a cornerstone of Pakistan-Jordan relations.
