ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, December 23, 2025 (WNP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced Islamabad’s first Pelican pedestrian crossings on Constitution Avenue, directly in front of the Secretariat, marking a significant step toward improving road safety and pedestrian convenience.

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, confirmed the installation, highlighting it as part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance urban mobility and protect pedestrians.

“These crossings are designed to ensure safer and more organized pedestrian movement along one of the busiest avenues in the capital,” Randhawa said. “We are committed to introducing more such initiatives across the city to modernize traffic management and promote road safety for all residents.”

The CDA has indicated that similar pedestrian-friendly projects will be rolled out in other high-traffic areas of Islamabad in the near future, emphasizing the authority’s focus on sustainable urban planning and public safety.
