ISLAMABAD, Friday, April 24, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday warmly welcomed the visiting Iranian delegation led by Abbas Araghchi upon arrival in Islamabad, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.
In a statement, Ishaq Dar said he was pleased to receive his “brother,” the Iranian Foreign Minister, alongside Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
He expressed optimism over the upcoming engagements, noting that the visit would provide an important opportunity to hold meaningful discussions aimed at advancing peace, stability, and constructive dialogue in the region.
The Iranian delegation’s visit comes at a critical time amid evolving regional dynamics, with both countries expected to exchange views on key developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Earlier, the Foreign Office confirmed that the Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Islamabad to hold high-level meetings with Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, focusing on regional issues and peace initiatives.
The visit underscores the continued engagement between Pakistan and Iran in fostering dialogue and strengthening bilateral cooperation for regional stability.
