ISLAMABAD, Friday, April 10, 2026 (WNP): A high-powered delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad on Friday to participate in the Islamabad Talks aimed at advancing regional peace efforts.
The visiting delegation was received at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
Welcoming the Iranian dignitaries, Ishaq Dar expressed hope that all parties involved in the dialogue would engage in a constructive manner.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating the process and underscored its desire to help the parties reach a lasting and durable resolution to the conflict.
The arrival of the Iranian delegation marks a significant step in the ongoing diplomatic efforts being hosted by Pakistan to promote dialogue and de-escalation in the region.
