ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 (WNP): Interior Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Eskandar Momeni, visited the headquarters of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Wednesday, where he was briefed on the organization’s state-of-the-art digital identity system, technological advancements, and citizen-centric services.

During the visit, the Chairman of NADRA Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar provided the Iranian delegation with a comprehensive briefing on the authority’s organizational structure, digital governance framework, biometric identity management system, cybersecurity initiatives, and the wide range of public services delivered through advanced digital technologies.

The briefing highlighted NADRA’s continued efforts to modernize Pakistan’s national identity infrastructure, enhance service delivery, and promote secure, efficient, and transparent digital governance.

Expressing appreciation for NADRA’s achievements, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni commended the authority for making remarkable progress in the application of modern technology to improve public service delivery. He described NADRA’s advanced identity management system and digital services as exemplary, noting that they represent a successful model for the region.

The Iranian Interior Minister said Pakistan’s experience in digital identity management and e-governance offers valuable insights, adding that Iran looks forward to strengthening institutional cooperation with Pakistan in areas of digital identity, technological innovation, capacity building, and the exchange of technical expertise.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding institutional collaboration and promoting closer cooperation in digital governance, identity management, and emerging technologies, with a shared objective of enhancing public services and strengthening bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries.
