Iranian envoy meets NA speaker, appreciates Pakistan’s role in Iran-US peace agreement

ISLAMABAD, Monday, June 15, 2026 (WNP): Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, on Monday called on Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and the recent Iran-United States peace agreement.

During the meeting, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq extended heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and people of Iran on the peace agreement reached between Iran and the United States, describing it as a significant achievement for regional and international peace.

The speaker warmly welcomed the agreement and said it represented a positive and encouraging step toward promoting peace, stability and mutual trust in the region.

He expressed confidence that the accord would play an important role in advancing peace and security not only in the Middle East but also at the global level.

Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam, in turn, appreciated the efforts of Pakistan’s government, parliament and military leadership in facilitating the peace agreement and ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

The envoy congratulated Pakistan’s political, parliamentary and military leadership on successful diplomacy that contributed to the achievement of the agreement.

He praised Pakistan’s constructive role throughout the mediation process and termed the efforts of the country’s leadership instrumental in helping bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

According to the ambassador, the government and people of Iran would always remember Pakistan’s sincere role in promoting dialogue, securing a ceasefire and facilitating the peace agreement between Tehran and Washington.

The two sides also held detailed discussions on Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, enhancement of parliamentary cooperation and the overall regional situation.

During his visit to Parliament House, Ambassador Moghadam and members of his delegation also observed the proceedings of the National Assembly session.

Several senior government officials and lawmakers were present during the meeting, including Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Public Affairs Unit Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Muhammad Awn Saqlain, and members of the National Assembly Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani and Noor Alam Khan.

The meeting reflected the growing momentum in Pakistan-Iran relations and underscored the commitment of both countries to strengthening cooperation, promoting dialogue and supporting efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.
