ISLAMABAD, Sunday, July 20, 2025 (WNP): In a gesture of solidarity, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by the recent floods in Pakistan.
Minister Momeni extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized Iran’s unwavering support during this humanitarian crisis. “We stand with the government and people of Pakistan in this difficult time,” he said, assuring that Iran is ready to provide all possible assistance to help the flood-affected communities recover.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the forthcoming visit of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, scheduled for July 26. Momeni thanked Naqvi for his recent visit to Iran, which he described as a step forward in strengthening bilateral ties.
Minister Naqvi welcomed the Iranian President’s upcoming visit and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Tehran on mutual interests, including regional stability and disaster response.
The call comes amid ongoing efforts by Pakistan to mobilize international support for relief and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating monsoon floods.
