ISLAMABAD, Thursday, December 11, 2025 (WNP): President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto on Thursday saluted Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), during their interaction in an extraordinary gesture reflecting the deep respect Pakistan’s military leadership commands on the global stage.

The moment, captured during the Indonesian president’s official visit to Pakistan, quickly gained international attention for its symbolic significance.

As President Subianto approached Field Marshal Munir, he paused and declared, “I have to salute you first!” — a remark that underscored the strong personal esteem and mutual respect between the two leaders.
