LAHORE, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 (WNP): Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Allama Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi on Tuesday said stressed that combating ‘fitna’ (sedition and mischief) is the need of the hour, warning that forces spreading discord must be stopped to protect the nation’s faith, morals, and values.

Speaking at an Eesal-e-Sawab ceremony at Jamia Naeemia, Dr. Naeemi said the onslaught of fitna has severely damaged social, religious, and ethical values.

He underlined that Islam’s message is rooted in justice, tolerance, and discipline, yet some elements are misleading the youth through social media and other platforms.

“Some exploit the name of religion and Islamic terminology to misguide people, others hollow out beliefs and undermine good deeds in the name of modernity. Some alienate youth from the legacy of scholars and elders, while others misinterpret Quranic verses to create confusion,” he said. He urged the younger generation to seek guidance from the Quran and Sunnah, remain connected with scholars, and dedicate themselves to the welfare of the country and the nation.

Separately, Dr. Naeemi strongly condemned the recent suicide attack in Quetta, calling it a cowardly and inhuman act aimed at destabilizing peace and security. He praised the swift and effective response of security forces and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured personnel and civilians.
