Erdogan assures full support to Pakistan in flood relief, condoles loss of lives

LAHORE, Thursday, August 28, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received a telephone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed condolences and solidarity with Pakistan over the devastation caused by recent floods in several parts of the country.

President Erdogan conveyed his heartfelt sympathies on the loss of lives and widespread damage to property, assuring that Türkiye stood ready to provide all possible assistance, including support for rescue and relief operations.

Expressing gratitude, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the call reflected the “time-tested and brotherly ties” between Pakistan and Türkiye. He noted that the two nations had always stood by each other in moments of trial, underscoring the depth of their fraternal relations.

The leaders also recalled their recent interactions earlier this year and expressed the hope to meet again soon on the sidelines of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
