PESHAWAR, Wednesday, December 10, 2025 (WNP): The Country Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Saliha Tuna, visited the University of Peshawar on Wednesday, holding productive discussions for expanding educational and research collaboration between Türkiye and Pakistan.
During the visit, Tuna met university officials, faculty members, and academic representatives to review opportunities for joint initiatives across key sectors. The discussions focused on strengthening education and research partnerships, enhancing capacity-building programmes, and developing student- and faculty-centered exchanges.
She emphasized TİKA’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s academic institutions through targeted projects that contribute to human resource development, technological advancement, and institutional strengthening.
“We look forward to working together on initiatives that will benefit students, strengthen academic capacity, and further enhance Türkiye–Pakistan cooperation,” Tuna said.
The University of Peshawar administration welcomed TİKA’s interest and expressed readiness to collaborate on practical, long-term partnerships that build on the historic ties between the two nations.
The visit marks another step in the growing educational cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan, with both sides aiming to translate shared commitments into impactful programmes for the region’s academic and socio-economic development.
