BEIJING, Wednesday, December 10, 2025 (WNP): The Chinese Ministry of National Defense announced that the PLA Navy hospital ship Ark Silk Road has arrived in Jamaica on a goodwill visit, offering medical assistance to communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.

The arrival on December 4 marks a key stop in the vessel’s ongoing Mission Harmony 2025 humanitarian deployment. During its stay, local residents impacted by the devastating storm boarded the ship to receive medical treatment and essential healthcare services.

Following its mission in Jamaica, the Ark Silk Road will continue its voyage to additional destinations, extending China’s overseas humanitarian outreach and naval medical support to partner countries.
