Aurangzeb meets U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick, discusses trade, investment expansion

WASHINGTON, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 (WNP): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday met U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick in Washington, D.C., on the sidelines of the World Bank–IMF Spring Meetings 2026, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic ties.

During the meeting, both sides explored avenues to deepen the economic partnership between Pakistan and the United States, with a particular focus on expanding trade, increasing investment flows, and enhancing private-sector collaboration.

The discussions also covered potential cooperation in key sectors including mining, energy, and information technology, aimed at unlocking new opportunities for mutually beneficial economic engagement.

Both sides reaffirmed their interest in advancing practical steps to further economic cooperation and sustain momentum in bilateral economic relations.
