Türkiye, Malaysia explore trilateral development cooperation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, February 12, 2026 (WNP): The Country Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Saliha Tuna, held a meeting with senior diplomats of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad to explore avenues for trilateral technical cooperation for advancing sustainable development initiatives in Pakistan.

The discussions took place during a meeting with Mohd Syafik Firdaus, Deputy Head of Mission, and Zulasri Rosdi, First Secretary at the Malaysian High Commission.

According to officials, the engagement focused on identifying potential areas where Türkiye and Malaysia could jointly collaborate in Pakistan through technical assistance, capacity building and development-oriented partnerships.

The initiative will help grow diplomatic coordination between Türkiye and Malaysia in leveraging their development expertise to support partner countries, including Pakistan, in sectors aligned with sustainable growth and institutional strengthening.

The participants described the exchange as productive, underscoring shared commitments to enhancing South-South cooperation frameworks and promoting long-term development partnerships.

It is noteworthy that trilateral cooperation models are increasingly being adopted to combine financial resources, technical knowledge and regional experience in addressing development challenges more effectively.
