ISLAMABAD, Saturday, January 31, 2026 (WNP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Saturday attended the funeral prayers of the son of senior Dawn News reporter Adnan Sheikh, expressing deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved family during their time of grief.

According to official sources, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his condolences to Adnan Sheikh and his family through a telephone call. The Prime Minister expressed heartfelt sympathy over the tragic loss and prayed for patience and strength for the family to bear what he described as an immense and painful bereavement.

Both the Prime Minister and the Information Minister acknowledged that the loss of a child is an irreparable tragedy, extending prayers for the departed soul to be granted eternal peace and a place in the mercy of Almighty Allah.

The participation of senior government leadership in the funeral and condolence process was widely viewed as a gesture of respect for the journalistic community and an expression of compassion and support for a colleague in mourning.

Members of the media fraternity, relatives, and friends also attended the funeral prayers, offering condolences and prayers for the deceased and the grieving family.
