Pakistan, Myanmar review bilateral ties, pledge continued diplomatic engagement

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, January 6, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Myanmar, U Than Swe, to review the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the discussion, both leaders assessed ongoing cooperation and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close and regular communication, particularly on regional developments and shared diplomatic priorities.

The two foreign ministers agreed that sustained engagement and dialogue would further strengthen Pakistan–Myanmar relations and contribute to greater understanding on regional and international matters. The conversation underscored the importance both sides attach to continued diplomatic coordination in a rapidly evolving regional landscape.
