ISLAMABAD, Thursday, January 1, 2026 (WNP): The Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan and Head of the EU Delegation, Raimundas Karoblis, extended New Year greetings on the occasion of the start of 2026, reflecting on the theme of renewal and shared aspirations as 2025 draws to a close.

In a message marking the New Year, Ambassador Karoblis said the transition into 2026 was a moment to reflect on new beginnings and collective hopes for the future.

“Happy New Year, everyone,” he said, adding that the end of 2025 offered an opportunity to look forward with optimism and purpose.

Highlighting a symbolic initiative within the EU Delegation, the ambassador noted that children of EU colleagues expressed their aspirations for the future through artwork. Their paintings, inspired by Pakistan’s vibrant truck-art tradition, creatively depicted the European Union’s Strategic Priorities, underscoring themes of partnership, inclusivity, and shared values.

The initiative reflected the EU’s emphasis on people-to-people connections and cultural engagement, alongside its broader political, economic, and development cooperation with Pakistan.
