PUTRAJAYA, Tuesday, October 7, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday was conferred an honorary Doctorate in Leadership and Governance by the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in recognition of his distinguished services in leadership, governance, and public service.

The honorary degree was presented by Her Majesty Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, Queen of Pahang and Constitutional Head of the University, during an impressive ceremony attended by senior government officials, university faculty, students, and distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for the honor, emphasizing the vital role of education in promoting progress and mutual understanding among Muslim nations. Her Majesty the Queen of Pahang also highlighted the importance of visionary leadership and educational collaboration across the Muslim world.

The event underscored the growing academic and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia, reflecting shared aspirations for development, knowledge exchange, and unity within the Muslim Ummah.
