ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 (WNP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday commended Pakistan’s security forces for their successful operation in Kalat, Balochistan, which resulted in the elimination of eight terrorists affiliated with the Indian-backed militant network ‘Fitna al Hindustan.’

In separate statements, the president and the prime minister praised the armed forces for their professionalism, courage, and commitment in neutralizing a serious terror threat and safeguarding national peace and stability.

President Zardari said the operation demonstrated the bravery and operational excellence of Pakistan’s forces in confronting the enemies of the state. “The nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its valiant forces in the fight against terrorism,” he said in a statement issued by the President’s Secretariat Media Wing.

He warned that the terrorists aimed to disrupt Pakistan’s peace and stability — a goal that would never be allowed to succeed. “The entire nation is united, and the menace of terrorism will be eradicated at all costs,” the president asserted, reaffirming that anti-terror operations would continue until complete success was achieved.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed the president’s sentiments, hailing the two-day counterterrorism operation in Kalat as a major success against hostile elements working to destabilize the country. “The enemies of Pakistan’s sovereignty and peace — the elements of Fitna al Hindustan — will be rooted out,” the PM Office Media Wing quoted him as saying.

He added that the government and armed forces remained fully committed to the complete eradication of terrorism and the protection of innocent lives and property.

In a detailed statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation was part of a sustained intelligence-based campaign targeting foreign-sponsored militants in Balochistan.

“Following the successful operation in Kalat District on July 19, where four terrorists of Fitna al Hindustan were neutralized, security forces launched a follow-up sanitization operation on July 21 in the surrounding areas,” the ISPR said.

During this follow-up action, four additional terrorists were killed, and a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. A key hideout used by the terrorists was also dismantled.

The military’s media wing reiterated that the security forces, with full support from the nation, are committed to defeating all hostile attempts — particularly those orchestrated by Indian proxies — aimed at undermining the peace, stability, and development of Balochistan.

The operation in Kalat marks another high-impact blow to terrorist networks operating in Balochistan with foreign backing, especially from across the eastern border. Both the civilian leadership and the military have reiterated that Pakistan will not allow its territory or people to be held hostage by violent extremists acting on behalf of external enemies.
