Iran offers support, condolences as monsoon rains claim lives across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Sunday, July 20, 2025 (WNP): Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives caused by heavy monsoon rains across various regions of Pakistan, offering condolences and reaffirming Iran’s readiness to assist.

In a heartfelt message posted on his official account on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the ambassador wrote, “Extremely dejected to learn that the heavy monsoon rain claimed the lives of hundreds of my dear Pakistani brothers and sisters and injured many more people in different regions. May Allah Almighty bestow blessings on the souls of the deceased and place them in Jannah.”

Dr. Moghadam extended his condolences to the government and people of Pakistan, particularly to the grieving families who lost loved ones. He also offered prayers for the swift recovery of those injured in the floods.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for any assistance to the government and people of the brotherly and neighboring country of Pakistan,” he stated, adding, “Our hearts and souls are with our brothers and sisters in this time of grief.”

As rescue and relief efforts continue across flood-hit areas, Iran’s gesture of solidarity highlights the strong humanitarian bond and close bilateral ties between the two neighboring nations.
