TIANJIN, Tuesday, July 15, 2025 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran and called for peaceful dialogue as the only path to regional stability, during a bilateral meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi in Tianjin, China.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) session.
The two leaders held wide-ranging talks on bilateral cooperation and the evolving regional situation, particularly in light of recent Israeli aggression against Iran.
Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on peace and diplomacy, stressing that “dialogue and diplomacy must remain the only viable path toward de-escalation and achieving lasting peace in the region.”
The two sides also reviewed progress in economic, political, and security cooperation, with a shared resolve to strengthen ties in all areas of mutual interest.
The meeting comes at a critical juncture amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where both Pakistan and Iran have called for restraint and responsible engagement to avoid further escalation.
