ECO Summit: PM Shehbaz, President Erdogan vow to deepen Pakistan-Türkiye ties

KHANKENDI, Friday, July 4, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Khankendi on Friday, where the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation across key sectors.

During the meeting, the two leaders conducted a comprehensive review of Pakistan-Türkiye relations and discussed important regional developments. They expressed satisfaction over the steady progress in bilateral ties and reiterated their resolve to advance meaningful collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in trade, defence, energy, connectivity, and investment, describing these areas as critical to the shared prosperity and development of both nations.

To translate their vision into concrete outcomes, Pakistan and Türkiye agreed to exchange high-level delegations aimed at ensuring the timely implementation of understandings reached during the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to working closely with Türkiye to promote shared goals of regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.
