DALLAS, Sunday, June 15, 2025 (WNP): The Pakistani community in the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area held a dignified welcome and solidarity event under the banner of Stand with Pakistan to mark the arrival of Field Marshal Asim Munir in the United States.
The grand dinner reception was attended by Pakistan’s Consul General Aftab Chaudhry, Texas State Assembly Member Terry Meza, and several prominent Pakistani-American community members.
Addressing the gathering, Consul General Aftab Chaudhry praised the Pakistani armed forces for their “resolute and professional” response to recent Indian aggression, stating that under the leadership of Field Marshal Munir, the military demonstrated “firm national defense and strategic clarity.”
Chaudhry also noted that Pakistan-U.S. relations span several decades and that the invitation extended to Field Marshal Munir to participate in the 250th anniversary celebrations of the U.S. Army reflected the depth and continuity of these bilateral ties.
In her remarks, Assembly Member Terry Meza expressed solidarity with the Pakistani, Kashmiri, and Sikh communities, emphasizing her pride in standing with groups that champion peace, equality, and justice.
She stated that she has consistently spoken out against extremist ideologies, and as a result, supporters of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have often criticized her. Meza described Modi as representing an “extremist mindset that divides societies and fuels hatred,” adding that the world today needs leadership that promotes peace, inclusion, and justice.
The event was seen as a powerful show of diaspora unity and an affirmation of shared values between the Pakistani-American community and their allies in the U.S.
