Turkish, Omani ambassadors call on naval chief, discuss defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Monday, May 05, 2025 (WNP): The Ambassadors of Turkiye and Oman, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu and Fahad Sulaiman respectively, met Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters on Monday to discuss regional security and bilateral defence collaboration.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate General Public Relations of the Pakistan Navy, the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, evolving regional security dynamics, and avenues for enhanced cooperation.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf underscored the Pakistan Navy’s proactive role in promoting maritime peace and stability, particularly through its Regional Maritime Security Patrols.

The ambassadors appreciated Pakistan Navy’s contributions to regional maritime security and reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to strengthening defence ties with Pakistan. They emphasized the importance of continued cooperation for ensuring collective regional stability.

The visit, the statement added, is expected to further reinforce the longstanding relations between Pakistan and the two brotherly nations, particularly in the domain of military and maritime collaboration.
