Fourth Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit opens under Crown Prince’s patronage

Prince Abdullah bin Bandar inaugurates three-day summit bringing together global leaders, experts, researchers, innovators and investors to advance medical biotechnology

RIYADH, Monday, September 14, 2026 (WNP): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riyadh Biocentral Foundation, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz inaugurated on Monday the fourth edition of the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit (RGMBS).

The three-day summit is being held in Riyadh from September 14 to 16 under the theme “Building the Foundations of Excellence in Medical Biotechnology.”

The summit is organized by the Ministry of National Guard, represented by Health Affairs, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC), in partnership with the Ministry of Investment and the Future Investment Initiative Institute as a strategic partner.

Prince Abdullah bin Bandar attended the opening session, which brought together prominent leaders, experts, researchers, innovators and investors from the medical biotechnology sector from across the world.

The summit focuses on key issues shaping the future of medical biotechnology, including national strategies and regulatory frameworks, research and development, innovation infrastructure, financing and investment, as well as human-capacity and talent development.

It also provides a platform to examine the latest scientific developments and technological innovations in medical biotechnology and their potential to strengthen healthcare systems and advance medical research.

More than 100 international speakers are participating in the summit, including chief executive officers, presidents of leading global universities, experts and researchers.

An accompanying exhibition is bringing together government, academic, healthcare, technology, industrial and investment entities to showcase their latest products, services and advanced medical technologies.

The summit’s programme features panel discussions, scientific sessions, specialized workshops, investor and policymaker meetings, and a dedicated platform for signing agreements and memoranda of understanding.

These activities are aimed at creating new opportunities for cooperation, investment and strategic partnerships while supporting the development of a globally competitive medical biotechnology ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
