Children aged 6–14 invited to showcase their artistic vision of Russia and Pakistan, with entries open through November 30
ISLAMABAD, Thursday, September 3, 2026 (WNP): The Russian State Children’s Library and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Pakistan have announced an international children’s art competition aimed at promoting cultural understanding and strengthening friendship between young people in Russia and Pakistan.
Titled “What Do You Know About Russia? What Do You Know About Pakistan?”, the competition invites children aged 6 to 14 to embark on a creative cross-cultural journey through art.
Under the initiative, children from Pakistan are invited to create artwork inspired by Russia, while young participants from Russia will present their artistic interpretations of Pakistan.
The competition has been divided into two age categories — 6–10 years and 11–14 years — giving young artists an opportunity to express their impressions and understanding of the other country through creative work.
According to the organisers, participants may draw inspiration from a wide range of themes, including nature, cities, traditions, literature, holidays, national costumes and everyday life.
The initiative seeks to encourage children to explore another country’s culture and heritage while expressing their own perceptions through art. The organisers said the creative exchange would help young participants discover similarities and differences between the two societies and develop greater cultural awareness.
Entries will be accepted from September 1 through November 30, 2026, while the results of the international competition are scheduled to be announced in February 2027.
The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan said the initiative provides children with a unique opportunity to share their vision of another culture and contribute to building bridges of friendship between Russia and Pakistan.
The competition is part of broader people-to-people and cultural engagement between the two countries, using children’s creativity as a means of encouraging mutual understanding and closer humanitarian ties.
