Pakistan to dispatch emergency relief assistance to Nepal as Prime Minister conveys deepest sympathies to bereaved families

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, September 3, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad and signed the condolence book opened in memory of those who lost their lives in the recent devastating flash floods and landslides in Nepal.

The Prime Minister was received by Rita Dhital, Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan. He was accompanied by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch and other senior officials.

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Nepal and to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the tragedy.

The Prime Minister reiterated the sentiments he had earlier conveyed to Nepali Prime Minister Balendra Shah during a telephone conversation, reaffirming Pakistan’s complete solidarity with Nepal in this hour of grief.

He informed the Nepali Ambassador that Pakistan would dispatch emergency relief assistance to Nepal later this week to support the ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Pakistan’s continued support to Nepal and expressed hope that the resilient people of Nepal would emerge stronger from the tragedy.

Underscoring the close and long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Nepal, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the two countries would continue to stand by each other in times of need.

Ambassador Rita Dhital thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his kind and reassuring words of support, saying the gesture would be long remembered by the people of Nepal.

She also briefed the Prime Minister on the current state of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Nepal.
