MUZAFFARABAD, Sunday, June 28, 2026 (WNP): The people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have rejected attempts by the banned Joint Action Committee to disrupt peace and public order, with normal life continuing uninterrupted across the region, including the capital Muzaffarabad and other major districts.
According to official sources, the protest call issued by the banned committee failed to receive a public response as citizens, traders, transporters and business communities continued their routine activities, reflecting their commitment to maintaining peace, stability and the rule of law.
Markets, shopping centres and commercial establishments remained open in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Bhimber, Kotli, Neelum and other parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while business activities resumed normally in all major trading hubs across the region.
Social and public life also continued without disruption, with educational, commercial and civic activities proceeding as usual in different districts.
The trading community and transporters, along with other segments of society, rejected the protest call and continued their daily business operations, ensuring the uninterrupted movement of people and goods.
Officials said the overwhelming public response demonstrated that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir firmly rejected attempts by disruptive elements to create instability and disturb the peaceful environment of the region.
By refusing to support the protest call, the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir once again demonstrated their commitment to peace, public order and responsible citizenship, reaffirming their resolve to preserve stability and ensure the continuation of normal life across the region.
