ANKARA, Monday, June 8, 2026 (WNP): Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez arrived in Türkiye on Monday for an official visit for strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in the energy sector and other areas of mutual interest.

Upon her arrival, Rodríguez was received by Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, reflecting the importance both countries attach to their growing partnership.

The visit comes amid ongoing efforts by Ankara and Caracas to deepen cooperation in energy, trade and investment, building on the close political and economic ties established between the two countries in recent years.

Rodríguez, who has been serving as Venezuela’s acting president since January 2026, is expected to hold meetings with senior Turkish officials to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments and opportunities for enhanced cooperation in strategic sectors.

Türkiye and Venezuela have steadily expanded cooperation across a range of fields, particularly energy, mining, trade and infrastructure development. Both countries have repeatedly expressed their commitment to further strengthening economic and diplomatic engagement.

The visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to bilateral relations and facilitate discussions on future initiatives aimed at promoting mutual economic growth and investment opportunities.
