ISLAMABAD, Friday, May 15, 2026 (WNP): Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan İrfan Neziroğlu on Friday highlighted the strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood among Turkic nations while attending the 108th Independence Day Reception of Azerbaijan in Islamabad.

Sharing a photograph with fellow diplomats, Ambassador Neziroğlu said he was together with “brother ambassadors” representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan at the reception marking Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.

The event brought together diplomats, government officials, parliamentarians and members of the international community to celebrate Azerbaijan’s national day and reaffirm the close ties among the countries of the Turkic world and Central Asia.

The reception reflected the growing diplomatic, cultural and economic cooperation among Turkic states, particularly under the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, which has been actively promoting regional connectivity, trade, cultural exchange and strategic coordination among member and observer states.

Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy longstanding brotherly relations, while Islamabad also maintains close ties with Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries in areas of trade, defense, regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.
