Ishaq Dar highlights digital economy vision, CPEC 2.0 opportunities at launch of IBI Headquarters

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday, as keynote speaker at the launch of the IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters, highlighted Pakistan’s growing potential in the digital and innovation economy and reaffirmed the government’s vision to transform the country into a regional hub for technology and connectivity.

According to details, Senator Dar underscored Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of positioning Pakistan as a leading center for digital transformation, innovation, and knowledge-based development, driven by youth talent and expanding information technology capabilities.

He said Pakistan’s rapidly growing digital economy, coupled with its skilled workforce, presents significant opportunities for investment and global partnerships. He also highlighted emerging prospects under CPEC 2.0, noting its shift from traditional infrastructure development to intelligent infrastructure, digital connectivity, artificial intelligence, ICT, and innovation ecosystems.

Reaffirming the strength of Pakistan-China relations, the Deputy Prime Minister described the All-Weather Strategic Partnership as a time-tested and trusted bond now entering a new phase of enhanced digital and economic cooperation.

He said the launch of the IBI Digital Economy Headquarters marks an important milestone in Pakistan–China friendship and reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan as an emerging hub for technology, investment, and digital transformation.
