China backs Pakistan’s role in US-Iran engagement as Ishaq Dar meets envoy

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, April 21, 2026 (WNP): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday, with discussions focusing on the evolving regional situation.

During the meeting, the Chinese envoy conveyed Beijing’s full support for and appreciation of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to facilitate engagement between the United States and Iran aimed at ensuring sustained peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Dar reaffirmed the Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, underscoring the depth and resilience of ties between Pakistan and China.

He also emphasized the importance of continued high-level exchanges to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple domains.

The meeting reflects close coordination between Islamabad and Beijing on key regional developments, particularly in the context of ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East.
