Türkiye FM arrives in Islamabad for talks on regional de-escalation

ISLAMABAD, Sunday, March 29, 2026 (WNP): Foreign Minister of Türkiye Hakan Fidan arrived in Islamabad on Sunday as part of a high-level diplomatic engagement aimed at advancing efforts for regional de-escalation.

He was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Additional Secretary (Afghanistan & West Asia) Syed Ali Asad Gillani.

According to official sources, the Turkish foreign minister is accompanied by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, reflecting a coordinated diplomatic push by key regional actors to ease tensions.

During his visit, Fidan is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, focusing on bilateral relations as well as broader regional and international developments.

The visit comes amid intensified diplomatic efforts by regional countries to promote dialogue and reduce escalating tensions, with Pakistan playing an active role in facilitating engagement among key stakeholders.

Officials said the consultations are expected to contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.
