COAS celebrates Eid with troops in Kurram, reaffirms resolve against terrorism, cross-border threats

KURRAM, Saturday, March 21, 2026 (WNP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir on Saturday visited Kurram to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with troops and officers, reaffirming the armed forces’ resolve to eliminate terrorism and safeguard the country’s sovereignty.

The army chief offered Eid prayers with soldiers and prayed for Pakistan’s enduring stability and prosperity, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During his interaction with officers and troops, he extended Eid greetings and commended their high morale, professionalism, and unwavering dedication in defending the nation.

Praising the valour and spirit of soldiers, the COAS lauded their achievements in Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring lasting peace in the border regions. He emphasized that terrorists operating from sanctuaries across the border in Afghanistan would not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s security.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, he stressed that Afghan soil must not be used by hostile elements for activities against Pakistan.

The army chief attributed recent operational successes to the sacrifices of martyrs and the steadfast resolve of officers and soldiers committed to national security.

Expressing pride in the troops’ performance, he reiterated the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Upon his arrival, the COAS was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
