ISLAMABAD, Saturday, May 17, 2025 (WNP): President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their exemplary professionalism, unwavering courage, and swift response in the successful execution of Operation Marka-e-Haq, calling it a testament to the nation’s resilience and unity in the face of unprovoked aggression.
During a visit to Gujranwala Cantonment, President Zardari commended the military’s operational excellence, stating that history would remember how Pakistan’s forces repelled hostile action with unmatched precision and determination within a matter of hours.
The president was accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi and received by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), along with the commanders of the Mangla and Gujranwala Corps.
Paying tribute to the military and civilian martyrs, President Zardari described their sacrifices as a sacred trust and a lasting source of national pride. “The sons of the soil stood resolute and thwarted hostile designs with valor and strategic brilliance, fortified by the unyielding spirit of the nation,” he said.
Addressing officers and troops, the president lauded their morale, combat preparedness, and dedication to duty. He extended heartfelt congratulations on the successful completion of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, emphasizing that the Pakistani people hold their armed forces in the highest regard as guardians of national sovereignty and honor.
A day earlier, President Zardari visited the residence of Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom during the recent Marka-e-Haq operation against India. Expressing the nation’s gratitude, he offered condolences to the family and paid homage to the fallen hero for his service and ultimate sacrifice.
“Pakistan salutes its martyrs and remains forever indebted to their families,” the president said, offering Fateha and praying for the elevation of the martyr’s rank in the hereafter. He also prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
